Afterglow

My daily inspiration living here on the Mendocino Coast is the ocean, in all it's ever-changing glory.
What good fortune I've had getting to live in these magnificent surroundings for such a long time. I hope this painting brings you the sense of magic and splendor that you can always find here in northern California.

Sea Arches

Right here on the Mendocino Headlands you can find numerous, spectacular sea arches, carved over time by the ocean's powerful force. It's mesmerizing to watch the water rush through the archways. Endless hours of entertainment for sure! Each time I do a painting of one of these sea arches, I feel totally blessed to have the good fortune of living here.

Solitude

This painting was created in remembrance of the time when I lived in Vermont. The rivers and streams, as seen everywhere, bring about a glorious feeling that endless countryside abounds. There's a very special sense of openness, quiet, and beauty that I've never found in such abundance anywhere else. The fields and pastures in summer are so green it almost makes one squint! You never know when the next herd of Jersey cows will be crossing the road, heading to the barn for milking.

This unframed acrylic painting is on 7.50" x 10.75" paper.

Mendocino Coast Crashers

I love an opportunity to capture with my paintbrush,  the powerful energy of the ocean here on the Mendocino Coast, in northern California, where I live. I find the inexhaustible dynamism of the seas, completely invigorating, and endlessly fascinating, in it's ever changing patterns. I hope this painting brings that vibrant energy into your life too.
