Swaying in the Breeze
With summer on it's way the Calla's are beginning to slow down. I love painting them and will just keep going with it until I've had my fill. However, I doubt that will ever happen! Here's another combination of the central subject being painted in watercolor with acrylic inks creating the background. I love that combo. It just makes magic for me!

Luscious
One of my most favorite fruits in the world. A big fresh luscious pineapple. Not only are they extraordinarily delicious, but they're also exceptionally fun to paint. So many colors and contours. If you too love pineapples, I hope this one will make your mouth water!

Power Flower
A fine Spring day led me to a garden over grown with baby blue Forget-Me-Nots, along with several types of smallish yellow, and largish white daisy like blooms.
Along with a chunk of cheese and a glass of soda, I created a still life before placing my paintbrush in hand. There was so much Spring energy emanating from the garden, that to mimic that feeling and embellish the painting, I decided to first collage onto my painting surface a variety of hand made papers on which to paint. Those alluring, sparklingbackground effects that I absolutely love, are exactly what I was hoping to create. So here is the result.....

Sunday Morning Greeting
Awoke on Sunday morning. Walked out into the garden and found this beauty in my yard. Within a few hours here's the painting I did of this lovely Calla Lily. I love this time of year when I'm greeted by Calla's just about everywhere. They have to be my favorite subject to paint. Not to mention all the fun I have with the ink backgrounds. So much fun...... pinch, pinch......

Splashin' & Crashin'
When winter's here on the Mendocino Coast it can be truly unbelievable! Sometimes the waves get so
enormous it takes one's breath away! No kidding!! It's always so alive
and exciting living in a place with such a vibrant personality. If
you've visited here, you no doubt know what I mean. And if you haven't,
you can experience the storm for yourself via this painting.

Tumultuous Seas
Another magnificent, blustery day on the Mendocino Coast.
I captured the giant wave in this painting as it was crashing far out at sea, smashing relentlessly against the rocks. What tremendous power the ocean delivers. I'm sure glad I was on the land, and not out on a boat this particular day!

Days End
Another breath-taking Mendocino Coast sunset. The carnelian setting sun peeking through the lingering fog bank, gracing the viewer with what continues to be the eternal blessing of each day. Of course, each day being totally different than the day before. I hope you enjoy feasting your eyes on the beauty of dusk settling in.

Heart Song
This Calla Lily painting was part of a series, where I once again became fascinated with imbedding a variety of materials into the acrylic ink background, which were later removed once the inks had dried. I love the textures created by this process. I plan to keep growing with it! I love the happy go lucky Calla's!
