Another magnificent, blustery day on the Mendocino Coast. I captured the giant wave in this painting as it was crashing far out at sea, smashing relentlessly against the rocks. What tremendous power the ocean delivers. I'm sure glad I was on the land, and not out on a boat this particular day!

Daisies are stealing the show around here. I loved doing this painting. The daisies live all around my studio so I see them all the time. I figured it was time to create another tribute to their beauty and frivolity. For certain one of the liveliest flowers of all.
Revisiting Venice, Italy, by painting one of the gondola's whose home was on the canal, right outside the window of the Hotel Dalla Mora where we spent several glorious days. There's no way of describing Venice that can do it justice. One has to see it to believe it. Such a beautiful, fairy tale place on the planet. Too good to be true. Can't wait to go back.... In the mean time, I'll just have to keep making paintings of it and pretend that I'm there!
This is one of my favorite color combinations. I like the strength that each color lends to the other. Of course, painting flowers is always to my liking This particular painting came alive with fun form, and playfulness. I hope it adds some sparkle to your day.
Oh, the summer lilies live on, bright and alive as can be. Such splendid, beautiful, glowing flowers. Everywhere around there seem to be beaming lily faces to greet me. How can I not paint them??? I hope their captivating smile makes you smile too!
